E-Bike Road Trip Checklist

Quick verdict

Print this

Run this list 48 hours before departure—not in the hotel parking lot.

Best for: RV pairs, weekend car campers, and anyone hauling folders to a new town.

Avoid if: Daily 3-mile grocery loops only—your home checklist is shorter.

Road trips fail on boring details: tire pressure, charger packing, and lock choice—not motor watts.

One week before

  • Confirm folded bike fits cargo area (RV folder guide)
  • Charge and note baseline range on your usual loop
  • Check brake pads and tire tread (maintenance guide)
  • Photograph serial numbers for insurance

Pack these every time

  • Charger + extension cord (label which bike it belongs to)
  • Helmet per rider—Class 3 speeds hurt more
  • Lock rated for your stop length
  • Mini pump, spare tube or sealant, multi-tool
  • Gloves and front/rear lights even for daytime rides

At the destination

  • Re-read local assist rules (laws primer)
  • Plan routes—campground maps lie about “easy” hills
  • Store batteries inside if overnight temps swing hard

When something goes wrong

Flat tire: fix before you assume motor failure. Sudden range drop: cold weather or under-inflated tires first—not always a dying pack (battery guide). For model-specific quirks, keep EP-2 or Literider review tabs open on your phone.
